The Department of Educational Sciences belongs to the l'UFR Lettres et Langages (Literature and Languages). It provides courses which present the current state of knowledge and study problematics in the field of Educational Sciences research. Composed of several disciplines, these sciences allow for a plural analysis of educational facts, practices and situations.
The Department presents theoretical approaches of education and vocational training questions, borrowing their concepts and methodologies from social sciences and Humanities.

Research activities
The teachers-researchers of the Department of Educational Sciences are all members of the Centre de Recherche en Éducation de Nantes (Nantes Centre for Educational Research).
